First day and the new floor joists are installed to the rear end of the loft and can be seen here above the existing ceiling joists. The rear chimney stack was removed and an access hole is made to bring in all the loft materials that are required. The front supporting wall is constructed on top of the new flitch plate timber which is also taking the new floor joists as seen on the metal hangers.

The two front windows in the bedroom are installed and the extra timbers required to support the front sloping roof have also been installed along side the existing roof timbers.

The weather is good so all the rear roof tiles are removed together with the felt ready for the construction of the rear dormer. The rear dormer wall is constructed with the window openings so that the flat roof timbers can be installed.
The side "cheeks" of the dormer are constructed and the external face is ready to be boarded.

View from inside the dormer, the insulated roof has now also been installed. The remainder of the internal old roof is now removed to give a better work space from inside.
